Your new life together begins here.

The sacrament of marriage is offered at Christ Church to any couple of whom at least one is a baptized Christian, regardless of sexual orientation.

Before being married in the Anglican Church of Canada, couples are required to successfully complete a marriage preparation course, including meeting with the priest several times, in preparation for Christian married life.

Our organist is available to help select and perform music for your ceremony upon request. The priest (and organist, depending on availability) are also available for rehearsals and other preparations as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • What is the cost to have our wedding at the church? The church is offered without suggested donation for all parishioners of Christ Church. If you are not a parishioner of the parish and would like to have your wedding at Christ Church, there is a recommended donation of $300.
  • Can the priest officiate at our wedding if it's not in the church building? Yes, but this is on a case by case basis. The marriage rite used in the service will still need to be one approved by the Anglican Church of Canada. However, the preferred location for the Sacrament of Marriage is in the church building.
  • How much for priestly services? It is not the practice of the Anglican Church to charge for the sacraments, including baptism, the Eucharist, or marriage. If you so choose, you may leave an honorarium for the clergy.
  • How much for the musician? Our organist is available to help make your day the best it can be. For his services leading up to and including the wedding day, there is a recommended honorarium of $150.
  • Are we allowed to take pictures during the ceremony? Yes, but we kindly ask that only one person takes photos, be that a professional photographer or one guest who is appointed to this role. We ask photographers do not go behind the communion rail during the service and to refrain from photos during the Communion portion of the service, if that is part of your ceremony.
  • We have family and friends that can't make the wedding in person. Are you able to live stream the ceremony? Yes, we are able to live stream your ceremony at Christ Church. It will be hosted on the parish's YouTube page. For the services of the parish's video and audio opperator, there is a recommended honorarium of $100.
